Comparing Copolymer Acetal and Dupont Delrin Homopolymer in Sheet and Rods
Dupont Delrin is the best plastic for turning on a CNC lathe lathe. It is easy to turn, however it requires slow speeds. I’ve used this material to make Scottish small pipes chanters. Between the Delrin and Acetal rods, both materials are exceptionally tough and easily machinable, as they have very comparable physical properties. They do appear the same, but in practical uses there are some differences that can make one preferable than the other. It also depends heavily on your application.
